Cell phone activated IEDs?

Nowadays we come across reports of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) activated by terrorists using cellphones or camera flash. As camera phones and cell phones have become common usage, how can one protect oneself from an IED blowing in his face by the use of his cell phone?
