Foley Catheter + Surgery?

I am getting surgery they are going to be using a Foley Catheter but what is the alternative? The Balloon on a Foley Catheter never stays in even on tests so whats going to make it stay after surgery? on any bladder test they do they have to hold the tube and the opening of the urethra close because my body pushes it out....
