Help needed over rip off bank charges?

im with the halifax and i am going to be hit with about six charges at 35 quid a time, im expecting the bank when i call them tomorrow to be unhelpful as usual , does any one know if they are legally obliged to offer me a solution or at least try and work with me to find a tempory solution to this problem, last time this happened they took all the charges out of my account in one go, are they allowed to do this considering the problems millions of us are facing right now shouldn't they be a bit more understanding , im after some good advice or help in putting my phone call together, my charges have occurred from just trying to live not for an extravagant life style , hope someone can help
